We need

  • collapse (and option to show just class, functions)
  • open all in tree
  • search context
  • indicate item line code next to item (before name or after eg. #no GitHub link on page is broken #100 Function)
  • discrete separators from class functions and vars
  • icons to hide some items, or option to include fact that item is hidden in code (collapsed by arrow - but also can be nice collapsed in code from outline)
  • the indicated name on documents is by buble above name, should be some other type like just focus row
  • for some reason class separator and continuation looks ugly

Hi @ManPython thank you for filing this issue. After reading the issue, I am not quite sure I understand what the issue is about? Could you please add more detail with the expected behavior and the current behavior? A screen recording would be helpful.

Just try to work with long code with many functions and clasess to navigate - when many elements in outliner, and clicking this it's revealed/opened like tree widget with multiple level in case required first basic as class, functions (not all vars, etc.). Manage right now the outliner is not optimal and very hard. Basic functions now is for short code I think.

Eg. try top ctr+c/v similar coded between clasess as first and last, but search this by name in outliner when long list.. it's good to search just class, functions or vars, not all.. to easy switch the place.
More not comfy view as visual due tree in case many elements in outliner tree.

The community is not enough active here to produce in details all.. - why, if no vote actions..

HI @ManPython thank you for the reply. I am still not sure I understand what you mean. Are you talking about sticky scroll and certain features you would like to have added to the sticky scroll?

Not scrolling but functions, features around outliner for elements, eg. filters, search, actions, managements as list of ideas showing areas of troubles or comfort working around.
