readline/linenoise support in gxi

Hi Mighty Gerbils

I'm playing with Gerbil for the first time and wondering if gxi has readline support.

Also, is there anything like up-arrow support in the run-scheme env in emacs?

Yeah, run gxi with the -:te args:

gxi -:te

You can easily make it default behaviour via the environment, just export GAMBCOPT=te

So in short I see no reason to change the current default behavior, which is to not have broken bianaries and the user can just export the var if they are confident it works in their terminal of choice.

Ah yeah I totally forgot about bach. There is not a single binary/shim that's just our interpreter so not that easy to "set" the default runtime at runtime.

If it breaks binaries at the terminal that cannot be the default. Especially if it is a default that cannot be changed for any and all binaries compiled by gxc using Gambit's i/o. Damn.

Is this still current, or might it have a typo? When I do gxi :-te then line-editing works as expected, but not when running GAMBCOPT=te gxi to try it out. (Linux)
