Remember single-pane mode and/or sides proportion

(migrating existing issues/tasks from the previously used internal issue tracker).
Right changing the proportion of left/right panels and collapsing them entirely is not saved as part of the window state, thus not restored after closing and reopening a window. It would be neat to save this state as well.
