AmazonVariationPricer - Amazon-listed variation pricing does not show coupons #6
Description
Coupons may be available on some variations but not others.
These can substantially change how variations compare in price, which is the intended goal of this script.
I'm working on adding support for detecting coupons on variation pages that are requested.
At present the script is aborted if it detects that Amzaon listed pricing on variations on the current page.
We can still consider grabbing coupon information from other ASINs in this case.
If anyone has thoughts, please comment below.
Notes:
- I don't think the chance of a coupon appearing on any product is very high, which would mean a lot of unhelpful requests.
- We could limit checks to only if the currently-viewed product page has a coupon, but that defeats the purpose of finding a better deal, unless a higher coupon is available on a variation (which I believe is also uncommon).
- I don't have any data to back up either of these assumptions I'm making. I'm definitely biased against making requests that yield no value.
