I think you were using the non-stable master version. Please use 1.* instead. @mnwalker.

However master-version is working properly.

Had been using 1.*
"mookofe/tail": "1.*",
But now tested all versions from 1.0.0 to 1.0.5 and dev-master and all the same.

Not able to reproduce the issue.
