Great, some ideas:

  • [re: issues] - maybe including a template in the .github hidden file, people will be prompted to use it when logging issues
  • [re: testing] - maybe for 3, 5 and 6 you could provide some tips, or link to the testing section below, defining what a successful build is and what you should run or see in your console or in the resulting build messages. Sometimes, I suggest having people include a screenshot of what their addition looks like when they run the site locally, or run the project, you can embed gifs in github too, and take Licecap gifs for free.
  • maybe link to a label in particular for new contributors (maybe you have an "easy" label for good/quick first bugs)
  • love the gif dance, more gifs!
