Summary

This is a meta-ticket linking various approaches to accelerator synchronous communication under discussion in the HACC working group.

What is Accelerator Synchronous?

"Accelerator Synchronous" refers to the accelerator directly synchronizing with MPI operations to resolve incoming and/or outgoing data dependencies. For example, this synchronization could be structured through a GPU stream or graph.
