ah right they are labelled under "package manager" - I was only searching "libraries".

But thats interesting, seems like there has been some talk relatively early on but not as much interest as time went on. Im thinking that something like SWI's pack or idris2's pack could be a neat way to do something similar, as maybe an extension / not ISO. Have some index on github to reference scryer prolog packages and simple scryer-package.toml to start off with.

I'm personally quite interested in this, as is @bakaq (at least as far as projects and lockfiles go) and I expect to begin work on it early 2025 with anyone else who is interested.

There are quite a few of them if you google them around. Scryer implements ISO Prolog, so any code written for it should work. You can load libraries using use_module/1. But I have found that when most people ask about 3rd party libraries, they really ask if there is a central repository of them – and afaik there is none. Ideally such repo should distribute modules compatible with all ISO Prolog implementations, so it would benefit a larger Prolog community.

Yeah I guess thats essentially what Im looking for, an ISO compliant or complementary way of adding metadata and distributing / easily installing prolog code bundles. I don't know if the ISO prolog standard defines a way to do this - I havent read it and from what Ive seen in most prolog implementations there isnt really a more modern way to do so.

No, ISO doesn't define anything about package or modules distribution. And in fact, ISO defines some modules in a later standard from 2000, which is not well regarded. As for myself, I'm using Makefiles or Justfiles which just clone or download the correct library version into a local path. Some people are also using NixOS flakes, which are moldable to different languages and operating systems. It may be an interesting idea, but I think it doesn't support Windows well.
