Hi,

I have Assassin's Creed 2 installed on my Steam Deck directly from Ubisoft Connect. I'm using NonSteamLaunchers and, for context I use their Ludusavi drives configuration on my own standalone (flatpak) installation.

Assassins Creed 2 is backing up 2 paths, a config file and save files folder.

The config file (Assassin2.ini) path is being parsed from the correct compatdata folder, which in my case is "2486751858". This is where Ubisoft Connect (and the game) is installed.

The savefiles folder is being parsed from the compatdata folder "4186550607", which is empty. I believe this is taken from the ID of the game shortcut. I understand it might try to search there, but for this path it doesn't even try to search in the 2486751858 folder.

Hi! If I understand correctly, your roots are configured by NonSteamLaunchers?

The /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/UplayLauncher/pfx/drive_c root (which appears to be a symlink to the 2486751858 compatdata) is configured as a Windows drive root. Ludusavi does have some special handling to map the <root> placeholder (for store: uplay paths) to .../compatdata/*/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher, but only for Steam roots, not Windows drive roots.

I'm not super familiar with how NonSteamLaunchers uses Ludusavi, but since it reuses Wine prefixes for multiple games, I think it should instead be creating two roots:

• a Wine root (not Windows drive root) pointing to /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/UplayLauncher/pfx (for saves stored in documents and other system folders)
• a Uplay root pointing to /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/UplayLauncher/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher (for saves stored in the launcher folder)

I use NonSteamLaunchers but I wanted to use my own instance of ludusavi instead of their own implementation, so I copied their path configuration to my flatpak installation. It's been working till now, but I think it's the first Ubisoft game I tried.

I see what you mean. It's a bit late over here, but when I have the time I'll try to create the root path to the launcher folder.
