At the moment, the Makefile structure for the code generation script is not ideal. Maybe we can use the Makefile structure for the SUIT generation scripts as a guideline (see for instance https://github.com/RIOT-OS/RIOT/blob/2ec9ec13a48540aa55ba32455bb8184a3a46ba6e/makefiles/suit.base.inc.mk).
