The docs for read.neurons.vfb say the input can be VFB ids, but I think it's type ids only (FBbt ids or labels). So it does not take instance/object ids (VFB_xxxxxxx).

read.neurons.vfb(x, template = "JRC2018Unisex", ...)

VFB ids or a query passed to get_instances
