Where can I add the access log format?

Prompt me, please.
There is part of my playbook where I have added log_format. But this doesn't create correct nginx. conf.

Did you try putting log onto the same level as http ?

Yes, I did. Log_format didn't appear.

It looks like log_format is in the default.conf.j2 which generates not the set of core configuration but http related part. Not quite sure how to add that to your playbook though.

Did you try using the access key in the log dictionary? https://github.com/nginxinc/ansible-role-nginx-config/blob/main/defaults/main/template.yml#L647-L653

It looks like the template nginx.conf.j2 doesn't have the necessary code to build a global format log section inside nginx.conf

You can only use logs within the http and stream contexts 😄

But I can't realize why we can't create a global format access log to avoid repeating it many times.
