Contributing to NI Dev Labs

Contributions to NI Dev Labs are welcome from all!

NI Dev Labs is managed via git, with the canonical upstream repository hosted on GitHub.

NI Dev Labs follows a pull-request model for development. If you wish to contribute, you will need to create a GitHub account, fork this project, push a branch with your changes to your project, and then submit a pull request.

See GitHub's official documentation for more details.

Getting Started

  1. Install an NI software product that exposes a .NET API (e.g., Next Generation LabVIEW Features Technology Preview).
  2. Open ExamplePlugins.sln in Visual Studio 2015 (also works in Community Edition).
  3. Build Solution in Visual Studio.

Testing

  • TODO: include testing steps here.
