0.2.0-alpha5 App icon, graph and BG display state not consistently maintained

If you navigate to the event log, then return to the app home screen... the cloud icon has an exclamation, BG is ---, and the graph is gone. It seems to correct itself if you wait until the next upload, or choose the 'Start syncing' option from the app menu.

I see a similar situation during a new install. If you open the app, configure it, plug in the receiver, and accept the USB prompt it will start to sync and upload data. The USB icon will continue to have an exclamation. The icon doesn't seem to change with future uploads. The only workaround I found for this scenario is to force close the app, reboot, and reconnect.

With alpha6 and alpha6-iofix from @jasoncalabrese, USB and Cloud icons behave, but the BG and graph still aren't consistent when coming back from the event log. Will test again with alpha7.
