Folder icon changes after renaming

After renaming a folder changed it`s icon. Before renaming it was a blue one like the other folders. After renaming it looks like a document icon:

I noticed this recently too. I assume your folder name contains a dot?
If there is a dot in the foldername the webinterface seems to take it as a file suffix and changes the icon accordingly. Luckily it didn't cause an issue.

Edit: Although I didn't test what happens if the folder ends with .txt or .md

This has been reported and will be fixed in the upcoming rolling release (also see opencloud-eu/web#1888).

Very nice.
For the record I did test what happens with folders ending in .txt and it indeed tried to open with the editor. Which errors out when trying to save.
Is the file type only checked on file suffix?

Editors register themselves on file extensions rather than on mime types, yes. Might not be optimal, but this is the way our extension system currently works.
