Actually it is possible to enable the Radicale web UI. There you can also create additional calendars and addressbooks. But that is clumsy to use as you e.g. have to (re-)login using the app token. That is why we have it disabled by default. The example config has a hint about how to enable it: Also many clients allow importing ICS files into existing calendars I think. |

Hi, I have deployed OpenCloud with S3 storage. Now I will activate the Radicale server. I have uncommented the lines in the env, but I don`t know what I have to write in the storage line. All data shall be saved also to the S3 storage. |

I just discovered OpenCloud and I think it's fantastic! Indeed I am also on NextCloud and would love to move to OpenCloud. Personally I love OpenCloud because it's fast small efficient implemented in GoLang. Now I also need a Calendar and Contacts in order to move. However I think the problem with NextCloud is that it's trying to push so many features into one app. What I would like to see is a dedicated GoLang binary for Calendar and Contacts so we can do something like: cloud.mydomain.com for cloud functionality Similar to what Google does. Of course this means both systems are separate and communication between the two would be non trivial although the question is if they even need to communicate with each other. As to Radicale It's written in python. It would be way better to have this written in Golang in my opinion but not sure about the complexity. I would be happy to contribute in this area btw. |

Hello,
this is a following discussion of the closed issue: #206 (comment)
As for my opinion I'm very happy to see the Calendar&Contacts feature in OC, but there are some very crucial features missing.
My biggest hope in this project and what I've heard and read from others is, that OC can replace my Nextcloud instance, but to do that, it need the feature to manage Calenders and Contacts via GUI.
The decision to use radicale is made - a simple and straight forward move, but comes with some downsides:
Conclusion: at this moment the calendar and contact feature is only useable for advanced users or user with a very simple setup (one user, one calendar, no shares).
As I'm using my Nextcloud for my Family and others - this is a dealbreaker for me and for many, many homelab users - in my opinion a missed chance to get many Nextcloud users, to "convert" to OC.
Please share your thoughts about this.
