Opening this as a placeholder for thoughts and strategies on post-deployment checks, to prevent wiping out of configurations from server restarts or deploys.

This strategy could open doors to the automation of some tests in production.

We've had such situations in the past, where configurations got wiped out after deploy, also on upgrades.
