This wiki describes the OpenGHG inversion repository, its installation and usage. Users are encouraged to add to the wiki, following the conduct, to make documentation as complete as possible.

Purpose of OpenGHG inversions

OpenGHG inversions is a package that allows the estimation of emissions of greenhouse gases from measurements of atmospheric abundance. This approach is referred to as inverse modelling, which produces `top-down' estimates of emissions. See our conceptual introduction to inverse modelling and the OpenGHG inversions system if you are just getting started.

The OpenGHG inversions package relies heavily on the openghg package, which handles reading and standardising most of the inputs to the inversion framework. If you are planning to create your own input data for OpenGHG inversions you should become familiar with OpenGHG and its functionality.

First steps

To install OpenGHG, see the Installation & Setup section.
