Many government agencies distribute email newsletters that contain valuable information for journalists, such as policy changes, announcements, and updates. However, subscribing to and managing these newsletters individually is cumbersome and time-consuming. Additionally, finding these newsletters can be a challenge. To address this, Bron will develop a new source that aggregates newsletters from various government agencies into a centralized database. This new source will make the content of these newsletters searchable and accessible within the Bron platform.
User story
As a journalist using the Bron platform, I want access to a consolidated source of government agency newsletters so that I can efficiently stay informed about the latest updates, policies, and announcements and search all newsletters at once without subscribing to and managing multiple newsletters individually.
Acceptance criteria
Newsletter subscription management:
Bron admin users can subscribe to newsletters using a generic email address (e.g. subscriptions@bron.live) and have a method to click the subscription confirmation link (automatically? by fwd email?).
A view with active subscriptions is available to Bron admin users so that they can check if a newsletter has been subscribed to or can unsubscribe from it.
Browsing newsletters: A dedicated section within the Bron platform for browsing and searching government agency newsletters.
Data management:
Clear labeling and categorization of newsletters by source agency and date.
The newsletter content is available a source in the Bron platform.
