What happened?

When opening the forge and clicking on Convergent, the items listed below do not update… you have to go to another tab and come back to the page to refresh, see the video.

What server and version ur use?

I'm still using 1412, haven't upgraded to 15 yet, but you can download the latest version and use it—I think it should be the same, there haven't been any recent commits related to the forge… or if there were, I might have missed them.
I'm using Canary, and it works fine on the CipSoft client, so it probably isn't the server.

I was able to come up with a little workaround to update the item regarding this, but as for the negative balance, I managed to make it zero or positive like the value shown in the CipSoft client. However, it’s still causing errors in the log…

hey, i took a look at the forge code to understand both bugs.

bug 1 - item list not refreshing when clicking convergence:

the problem is in the toggleConvergence() function at game_forge.lua:784. when you click the checkbox, it does data.currentList = cloneValue(data.convergenceItems) — meaning it replaces the entire table with a new reference. the otclient reactive framework (the *for directive in the html) may not detect this table reference swap and doesn't re-render the list. that's why it only works when you switch tabs and come back, because that forces a full re-render.

to fix it, instead of replacing the table, try clearing and repopulating it while keeping the same reference:

-- instead of:
data.currentList = cloneValue(data.convergenceItems)

-- try something like:
for k in pairs(data.currentList) do data.currentList[k] = nil end
for k, v in pairs(data.convergenceItems) do data.currentList[k] = cloneValue(v) end

or if the framework has some method to force a ui refresh, call it after swapping the data.

bug 2 - negative gold on tier 5→6:

this is most likely a server-side bug (canary). the convergence price comes from the server as uint64 in the protocol (getU64() at protocolgameparse.cpp:1996), and gets converted to a lua integer via pushInteger. if canary is sending a wrong value for tier 5→6 (or not sending one at all and the server calculation is bugged), the client just displays whatever it receives.

you can easily verify by logging the data that arrives in the forgeData() function:

if the price for tier 5 already comes in negative (or doesn't come at all), that confirms it's server-side and you'd need to open an issue on canary.

Ok, thanks! I’ll give it a try.
About the items not updating: I set the forge to open the history by default.
That way, when a player tries to craft or clicks on a tier, it will already be up to date. (kind of a workaround)

As for the negative values, they don’t show up in the CipSoft client—only in OTC… but thanks anyway, I’ll test it. (I tried a few ways to fix this negative issue, but couldn’t get it to work)

It didn’t cause any errors in the console, but the value ended up being zero in OTC.
However, this only happens when using the convergent option. See the attached image.
I’ll also take the opportunity to send it through the official CipSoft client.
