Minutes from 25th Apr 2023 call

We had a good call yesterday to go over progress being made on G2P Connect - assessment/technical specification. We also discussed interactions Centre is making with the countries to help enable DPI thinking both in G2P context and general Digital Infrastructure in other areas.

For those who have missed yesterday’s call, here are few highlights:

1. 4 out of 8 DPGs have shared self assessments and we will be compiling and working with individual DPGs in next 2+ weeks to finalise the summary reports. This will help Centre and interested parties share the capabilities with the countries. Please note, Centre and Co-Develop teams will ensure DPGs consents before sharing any of these material.
2. We discussed mechanism to review and share feedback on G2P Connect specifications. We will have open discussions on G2P Connect discussion forums and meet in smaller groups to deliberate on various design choices.
3. Vijay V will guide interested teams with hands on session to navigate the repository for making changes to specs, documentation, etc so that community members can confidently make the changes.
4. Based on current conversations with the countries, G2P as theme has lot of interests with countries. One of the main requests from countries is to help them smoothen the existing processes and reach out to larger beneficiary pools in smaller incremental steps by addressing existing pain areas.
5. Co-Develop team re-iterated support for DPGs to create capacity to help enable G2P Connect compliance.

In continuation to above point #4, Centre believes - Seamless onboarding using Face Auth/Kyc (on existing ID systems), Transfer of benefits using ID - Account Mapper, Issuing credentials for eligible beneficiaries are few areas where +1 change can be easily demonstrated for the countries. All of these are part of G2P Connect solution blueprint to have a seamless G2P landscape with in a country.

In this regards, We at the centre call for volunteers to participate in implementing a "Financial Address Mapper” using G2P Connect compliant specs to demonstrate the power of open source and open standards to the countries. More details are available in this discussion thread.

The goal is to have multiple solutions and offering demonstrable on Living labs that will help countries appreciate the reusable aspect of DPIs through solutions like G2P and make informed decisions confidently and fast.
