mysql-client upgraded, and my python script doesn't work now.

Yeah, it seems your script or one of its dependencies hardcoded the path to the MySQL client library. That path will need to be updated now that the library is updated.

I had the same issue, I needed to reinstall mysqlclient with no-cache option.

pip install --force-reinstall --no-cache mysqlclient

Thank you so much!! This saved my day! I faced similar issue mentioned in the description and these two lines solved it. ( force installation with no cache)

this works, unless you upgraded from mysql-client 8 to 9, which will then very likely fail due to missing mysql-password, see Homebrew/homebrew-core#180498
