So I just had a bizarre experience with Sunshine. I am used to Moonlight (Gamestream) registering keystrokes from the host. For example, I remap my right alt to left windows in my main PC with SharpKeys. So when using Moonlight I click on the right alt to emulate the windows key.
However, it turned out when choosing Sunshine as the protocol, it negated the host implementation and simply used my normal client keyboard layout instead. So left windows and right alt is still registering the same key (unmapped). I also have toggled the "map right alt to left windows" on/off in Sunshine. Sadly it doesn't do anything.
The good thing about Sunshine is we can properly send ALT+F4 and other system keys, but I have to wonder if the behavior I explained above is intended by design. I was very confused when I window captured a screenshot with ShareX, the image generated was captured from the Moonlight Client instead of the host PC and this made me have to create a different hotkey for the client and host in order to avoid the conflict. This will also stop my dream wireless mouse from behaving consistently with some help from input director, because the keystrokes sent will not be responded by the host.
Can we have the option to emulate keystrokes from host, not the client?
