Starting with CloudShell Version 7.1, you can manage the deployment of AWS EC2 instances directly via CloudShell. To facilitate your AWS budget and cost management activities, AWS EC2 instances deployed via CloudShell Apps are preconfigured, by design, with the following tags: Blueprint, CreatedBy, Domain, Name, Owner, and ReservationId.

To create a budget:
Step 1: Click your account name, from the dropdown list, select Billing & Cost Management.
Step 2: On the Dashboard, from the left pane, select Budgets.
Step 3: Click Create Budget.
The Create budget is displayed. Here you can customize your budget as you see fit.
Step 4: Customize the budget as appropriate. You can select the name, start and end dates, monthly amount, and notifications.
Note: The Include costs related to and Notifications options are detailed in the following sections.

Notifications
You can configure AWS to send alerts to specific recipients when your budget exceeds a selected amount of actual or forecasted (using Amazon’s tools) costs.
To configure notifications:
Step 1: From the Notify me when dropdown list, select whether you’d like to be notified when costs exceed an Actual amount or a Forecasted amount.
Step 2: Enter the percentage of the cost at which you’d like to be notified.
For example, if you selected a Monthly Amount of $10,000 for your CloudShell AWS EC2 activity, and you’d like to be notified at 70% of the budget, enter 70 (note that the value is a percentage and not absolute).
Step 3: Specify the email addresses of the recipients, separated by a comma.
Step 4: Click Create.
