Description

1. had dbeaver community edition (ce) + connections using auto downloaded snowflake jdbc driver.
2. installed dbeaver enterprise edition (ee) * ok connections imported
3. but relaunch ce , gave error "unknown snowflake-ee" driver.
4. ok recreating connection on ce, was able to connect..
5. but then relaunching (ee) got same/similar error.

Seems, only one of them (ce) or (ee) can have its connections working?

Steps to reproduce

Additional context

Not sure if this a bug, like is it possible or not to have both ee and ce installed without each one not messing up with each other configurations (at least the connections) ?

Let me know what further detail you need, this is enterprise working place where both installations done automatically via some windows package manager.

FYI: My motivation to request instalation of (ee) its because i found out (ce) don't support odbc (theres an 9dbc icon on new connection saying "pro" needed.

Also found out ee version is bit low 21.3, which also surprised me, i would imagine licensing software we should easy get most current versions, but im going internally understand and promote request to upgrade ee available. They have system that developers request software not yet approved on internal portfolio, and after sometime/tech assessment they may approve for general use or not if software somehow fails some assessment.. and 2nd issue is this ee version have color problem where in dbeaver theme=dark (no matter windows theme) the selected option on any popup tree control is unreadable (almost black foreground on blackish blackground)

UPDATE: added exact versions of both DBeavers (ce) and (ee) windows version.

Can anyone suggest me if its possible to have side by side instalations of both ce and ee ?
As I explained above, at least I see an issue that connections only work with only 1 at a time.

As far as I understand, we have already fixed this bug. Please try a more up-to-date PRO version of DBeaver. For example, you can try Trial version https://dbeaver.com/download/enterprise/

If you create a connection in CE, it will work in EE. But not vice versa.

1. yes, i need internally to understand why dont we have most recent ee version in our internal software center..
2. A direct question on configuration, is there or not any config being shared (for easy understanding consider the most recent versions of ee and ce ?
   I see both got installed under c:\program files:

• c:\program files\dbeaver
• c:\program files\dbeaver ee
  but then in my years long notes on dbeaver workspaces seems there may only exists 1 folder used by both ce and ee:

in case of DBeaver not able to start due to illegal characters in path to a workspace

• delete workspace path from: f:\dev\dbeaver\configuration\.settings\org.eclipse.ui.ide.prefs

Unfortunately, we don't understand what you are trying to achieve.
EE and CE versions can't work with the same Snowflake driver library.

What happens:

• if you create a connection in CE, it will work in EE
• if you create a connection in EE, this will not work in CE.

This is expected behavior.

Ok thats my answer then, its not advised to have both ce and ee installed in same machine since (sadly) they seem sharing some configuration.
