Installation - Missing VCRUNTIME140.dll

If the eryph-zero installation fails on your system because the VCRUNTIME140.dll DLL is missing, please read the following information:

The VCRUNTIME140.dll DLL is part of the Visual C++ Runtime that is already installed on current Windows versions (e.g. as part of the UWP Desktop AppX package). However, sometimes - for some unknown reason - the installed runtime is outdated, broken or incompatible with eryph.

Solution

We currently have an open PR #294 to update the installer script to automatically check if the latest version of the VC runtime is installed. Once merged, the install script will ensure that the latest version of the runtime is installed.
Current version of the install script will ensure that the latest version of the runtime is installed.

Alternatively, you can download the latest version from Microsoft using this link: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

This is also the solution if your VC Runtime is broken for any reason. So if you still have problems with missing DLLs, please download the latest version and run the installation in either install or repair mode (repair mode will appear automatically if the runtime is already considered installed).
