We're thrilled to share some exciting updates with you! Since our last discussion (see here), our team has been hard at work, and we’re eager to showcase the fruits of our labor. From a sleek new website to significant updates in OS and Ez, there’s a lot to unpack. Let’s dive in!

A Brand-New Website Experience

We’ve been teasing our new website for a while, and it’s finally here! We invite you to explore goinfinite.net and experience it for yourself. The site shines brightest on a desktop browser, though it’s fully responsive for mobile users too. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

OS v0.2.7: Refinements and New Features

The latest release of OS, version 0.2.7, brings a host of improvements, including new features, significant UI enhancements, and critical bug fixes. Our goal was to make OS more intuitive, reliable, and efficient for all users. Here’s a snapshot of what’s new:

• New Features:

  • Safe Prefill for Login: Users can now prefill login credentials via query parameters (with a warning) for a smoother demo experience.
  • Cloak and Loading Overlay: Integrated from goinfinite/ui for a polished UI during transitions.
  • CLI Enhancements: Added runtime PHP execution and account updates via username for greater flexibility.
  • Cron and Mappings: Implemented clearable fields to clear configurations.

• UI Refinements:

  • Revamped the sidebar for better navigation.
  • Improved paths and redirects for the auto-login feature.
  • Enhanced the code editor with dynamic resizing and full-screen support.
  • Added lazy loading for marketplace and service avatar images to boost performance.
  • Fixed file manager issues, including proper handling of .tar.gz extraction and .trash visibility.

• Bug Fixes:

  • Resolved issues with database service default mappings.
  • Addressed SSL watchdog logging and custom database connection parameters.
  • Fixed UI glitches, such as missing vhost settings in PHP updates and file line state persistence.
  • Added a “delete index.html” message to prevent confusion.

Ez v0.1.3: Streamlined and Smarter

Ez v0.1.3 is here with a focus on stability and a standout new feature: auto-login.

This allows seamless access to any OS container (v0.2.7 or higher) directly from the Ez dashboard without needing a password. It’s a game-changer for workflows requiring quick access across systems.

Key updates include:

• Improved Backup Handling:

  • Increased error verbosity for backups and added skip TLS checks.
  • Ensured region fields are included for custom endpoint backup destinations.

• Container and Image Fixes:

  • Enhanced OS port detection for archived images.
  • Fixed issues with service name and port binding visibility.
  • Resolved errors when creating containers with imported images.

• Performance and Stability:

  • Replaced badger with GORM in-memory SQLite and enabled WAL mode for better database performance.
  • Added NET_RAW capability to containers for improved networking.
  • Fixed UUID v4 validation for object storage key IDs and automatic removal of www prefixes in mappings.

What’s Next: Our Roadmap Ahead

Our primary mission is to position Infinite Ez and OS combo as a viable alternative to cPanel for our hosting business. To achieve this, we’re focusing on four key initiatives over the coming months:

1. Cloud WAF Integration: This will be a managed service provided by Infinite, seamlessly integrated into our software ecosystem, rather than a self-hosted add-on.
2. E-mail Integration: We’re exploring self-hosted e-mail solutions like Stalwart Mail, Zextras Carbonio, or Zimbra. The goal is to enable management of multiple mail instances from a single interface, fully integrated with Infinite’s ecosystem.
3. DNS Integration with PowerDNS: Building on our existing PowerDNS deployment at Infinite, we’re working to allow full management of DNS clusters through Infinite Ez, giving users greater control and flexibility.
4. WHMCS Automation: We’re developing tools for automating deploy, suspend, and destroy operations, enabling seamless commercialization of containers via WHMCS. This will serve as a bridge until Infinite Bz is ready.

Speaking of Infinite Bz, this ambitious project is still in active development. We’re targeting a launch by the end of 2026, and we’ll keep you updated as we hit key milestones.
