Nitrite/Java: How NAND friendly is Nitrite?

For example, if I have a 20 megabyte database and I regularly update a couple of records, are the full 20 megabytes always rewritten to the disk or only the few bytes or kilobytes which were actually changed?

If auto-commit is on, nitrite will periodically persists data to the disk. If the auto-commit is disabled, the data will persists when you call commit method or at the time of closing the database.

As for your comment on version 4, is that version really already available? It would seem as if the repository does not know about v4 yet. Also, assuming a new project (and considering there are breaking changes), would you recommend to start with v4 than using v3 at this point anymore? Thanks once more

Nitrite v4 is not released yet. You can find it only in maven snapshot repository for now until it is released. Current master branch is containing v3 code and develop branch is containing v4 code. I would suggest to start with v4 as v3 is going to be deprecated once v4 is released.

Apologies, misphrased. By "available" I did not mean released but generally available. At least https://search.maven.org/artifact/org.dizitart/nitrite does not list the snapshot yet. Would that be on a different Maven repository?

Thanks for the clarification on the deprecation, that was my understanding, though how far is v4 already? Is v4 GA a matter of days/weeks or rather still months? If it is the latter, v3 might be the better choice for the time being, that's the reason why I am asking

You can download the v4 snapshots from oss snapshot repository.

Thanks a lot, that certainly explains it. The following did the trick in an Android environment, to render the JAR files available (God, how I miss the times when one simply managed JAR files manually 😄)

Thanks also for the clarification on the release, a month or two sounds fair and in that case it should be best to use v4 already now.
