How to Spawn a binary on Mobile?

so, i am very new to rust and kotlin and i don't feel confident touching raw rust and kotlin for production apps.

what i wanna do is spawn the llama-server binary from llama.cpp on android and ios. is it possible?

For Android, the easiest way is to build llama-server as a static binary. This ensures all dependencies are packed into one file so it doesn't crash looking for missing libs on the phone.

Once you have that single binary file, rename it to libllama.so and toss it into jniLibs. Then, set android:extractNativeLibs="true" in your Manifest. From your Kotlin code, just grab the path via nativeLibraryDir and you can spawn it using ProcessBuilder. It’s a bit of a hack, but it works for running CLI tools without touching much JNI.
