As @trollixx has explained probably too many times, he's got a regular job, the trickle of funds that enter his PayPal account via Carbon Ads probably barely cover server costs, and having prominent donation buttons on the project site would "create a false expectation." (The whole ad thing was rigorously debated in #924, and that was a tempest in a teacup for sure. You can disable them easily in the settings, if your distro didn't already do this for you.) However, sometimes it just feels nice to say thanks to the person who made a tool that you use literally every day, with something more than a thumbs-up emoji somewhere in the issue tracker. A no-strings-attached thank you. Not, like, here is money, fix my issue. Here is money, make me dark mode. Just some gratitude in the form of legal tender, which can be converted to any number of necessaries, such as coffee, or beer, or electric bills. So how do I send a donation? |

Here's the Buy Me a Coffee link mentioned in #924 (comment), although the shield on the README from #1122 seems to have been patched out later …here's a Ko-fi link, which seems to be a secret now, but it's how I made a donation, once upon a time, so I'm pretty sure it goes to the right person …and the little-used Bountysource page mentioned in #152 (comment) is still apparently functional, but it looks like crypto bros have taken over the company, so caveat donator, I guess. |
