Docker runners like colima

I use colima . It avoids the need for the docker client on Mac, Linux and windows ( soon ).

so it would be cool if we have a config to tell the system to use that.

Hi!

I'm open to supporting any runtime, but I haven't looked into any of them 😿
Any idea what would need to change to support it? Does colima support the regular docker cli that comes with Docker Desktop? I guess if it does, it may support Go SDK as well, which is a good start.

I don’t know the answers to these questions.

I do is “colina start “, and then standard docker commands work with no hassle.

So the level of integration required maybe very simple .

I think that if it works with the standard docker client, it should be possible to override your DOCKER_HOST variable and point it to your colima socket. Can you try that?

That would definitely be a smart way. Can’t believe I did not suggest that in the first place.

i wil try it. Hopefully soon . Am overloaded this week so have to come back to this.
