Plots unable to be opened

Hello,

The following folders containing output plots cannot be opened (with Adobe Acrobat or Preview) because the files are damaged or unrecognized. Note that all these plots are PDFs:

• bkgsub
• calibrated
• despiked
• rawdata

Plots that are still able to be opened:

• background.png
• calibration.pdf

I'm using a MacBook with macOS Sonomoa 14.6.1. I was running this code using a Jupyter Notebook with Python 3.12.7 through Anaconda Navigator. I recently switched to running Jupyter through Visual Studio Code, which has resolved an issue with operating in Anaconda where LA Tools loading bars would not render.

Hiya, new to latools and also encountered this issue (running Windows, Jupyter). Something about the embedding of images in pdfs is messed up in all the plotting functions. If you inspect the files with a text editor, you'll see that the files are actually (eg. from despiked): ‰PNG\r\n\x1a\n

Manually editing the files to .png rather than .pdf should allow you to open them with an image viewer. Hope this helps!

I'm getting this too. Windows 11, Jupyter. I can manually swap all of the .pdfs to .png but that is a hassle. Any comments on how to fix this?
