@iantaylor-NOAA suggested that we style all .R files across all repositories within the pfmc-assessments organization but there are some features of the tidyverse-style style guide that a few of us do not like. I found a personal GitHub repository called grkstyle where they created their own style guide based off of the tidyverse-style guide. I think we could easily fork the repository and change some things and have a styler up and running in a short amount of time.
My suggestion would be for someone to take the lead on this and play around with the tidyverse style guide and this personal repository that I found and give a demo to the team. Then we can all suggest differences and make a list of things that we want changed. Implement those changes and finally write a GitHub action that can be stored at the organization level or a reusable workflow that can be called in each repository.
I think November would be a good time to do this. We can also start a list of desired formatting here in the mean time.
