How to setup an input select multiple with multiple selected values?

Hi, I'm reading the documentation of inputSelect but I can't figure out how to setup or create an inputSelect multiple with more than one pre-selected values.

Could you please help me?

First, thanks for your intent; but, may my bad English grammar does not allow me to be clear.

Obviously, to create the attribute multiple, it is easy; as you point it. But, my ask does not that. Let me be more expressive with an example:

Imagine do you need to render a select with multiple attribute, but with more than one preselected values, may say, four values of the list. How could you do that?

If we look at the documentation, it said:

Set the selected option:

public function selected(string $selected): Select

The method accepts an string as the parameter in order to set the selected option, but I need four selected options. May you look the difference now?

As workaround I'm trying this:

$valuesForSelect associative array with the list of possible values
$preSelectedValues array with the pre selected values that I need to setup

    ....

        // temporary set the value as selected one

But for me this is ugly, don't you think?
There is no another option for setup more than one pre selected value?
