Reset timer when screen blanks (or turns off)

Current Behavior

Currently it auto resets the timer when activity is stopped for the set time if 'Reading Mode' is off.
There should be another trigger to reset timer, which is 'Screen Blank'.

Expected Behavior

When screen blanks and stays off for the set time or screen stays locked, the timer should reset regardless of "Reading Mode" being on or off.

I like the behavior you suggest. Do you by any chance know a good way to detect when the screen blanks and when the user unlocking the session again? Preferably one that works with any desktop environment.
