Break pop-up always on top

It would be nice if the break pop-up was always on top. Otherwise it might go to the background and you won't even notice the pop-up.

It has been on my wishlist as well.

As far as I know, in Wayland applications cannot request to stay always on top. There is one loophole that I'd like to implement at some point: GNOME Shell extensions seem to have access to a privileged API where this is possible. So I might be able to solve it for people who use the companion extension.

How about a full-screen view? I use Guake as my terminal, which completely covers the screen (including Gnome Shell components) and is always on top (in full-screen mode). That would be even better, as it encourages you to look away from the screen.

I have the impression that Guake relies on legacy X11 functionality. When I run wmctrl -l its window shows up, so I think it's an X11 window being bridged via XWayland. Stretch Break uses a native Wayland window as far as I can tell.

Today I played around with GJS in an attempt to make it work via the companion extension, but the API I intended to use appears to not be as straightforward as I had hoped. If you have the means to contribute a working implementation, I'm open to ideas.

It's been a while since I played around with GJS to be honest, so not sure I can make it work, but I can try. It's a pain to keep an extension working, because their API changes all the time.
