Hello, I can't get to work the audio in this 2in1.
On Windows, from the device manager, I get this id: ACPI\10EC3276\1.
After a search on google, I assumed that it is a rt5640.
the first order of business is to check if the kernel creates a card.
Can you paste the dmesg log somewhere?
also send the results of alsa-info.sh
I see that we have support for 10EC3276 for cherrytrail but not
baytrail, that might the issue.
…
After copying the files here
https://github.com/plbossart/UCM/tree/master/bytcr-rt5640 audio still
doesn't work (and nothing shows up on the audio devices list), however
there are some differences in pulseaudio logs. I attach here the
results of pulseaudio -vvv before and after copying the aformentioned
files.

Thank you for your help. I attach here the results of dmesg, and the output link from alsa-info.sh: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=2cca1e6e6ca1089912f4cbb89bfc2230a4dbe3ad
This laptop has the z8350, it should be cherrytrail, did you mean the opposite? |
So the kernel tells me a card was created on a cherrytrail platform, and
the pulseaudio logs shows devices being used (with a transition between
speaker and headset). no smoking gun really.
I am not sure how I can help at this point, either you have a pulseaudio
configuration issue or your hardware has specific quirks.

Any hints on what I could do next to understand what the problem is? I tried resetting all pulseaudio configurations. How do I know if this hardware has quirks?
EDIT: using vlc the audio works, but only with that, no system sounds and no headphones... |

I attach here the results of pulseaudio -vvv before and after copying the aformentioned files.
In both cases, the pulseaudio command terminates with "Killed", and no daemon is started.
