Typical slides produced with LaTeX Beamer often include numerous annoying elements:
Such clutter distracts listeners and takes their attention away from the main message of the slide—while conveying no useful information. The audience does not need that information in the middle of the talk, so please eliminate those from your slides if you have them.
In particular, the navigation buttons are eliminated by placing
\setbeamertemplate{navigation symbols}{}
