service principal PnP cmdlet?

Already have AppOnly certs but need a non-interactive service principal to embed in an unattended script. Highly possible that there is something I don't understand here. Maybe someone has built a PnP/PowerShell cmdlet that just does this. Don't mind creating another app if that is best. It is my hope that the changes to this question will allow it to fit within this Q&A.
