It may just not be possible to do what i want, but is there some way to make it use only the 'folder.jpgs' of the subfolders to create the icon for the master folder?
One subfolder may contain not just a folder.jpg but also scans of an entire cd booklet, in which case the 'Classic' preset just selects any of those jpgs to create the master icon, rather than selecting the subfolder icons/folder.jpgs only.
Ah, right. No I'm afraid there isn't the ability to do a classic-style icon but only use cover art as the image source. At the time I created the original script-based version of AFI years ago the distinction between "cover art mode" and "photos mode" made sense but I should perhaps look into unifying it - one should more logically be able to choose the "mode" of generation independently of the filename search used to find images.
