Hi. Thanks a lot for app.
Is it possible to improve application and make it automatically create new folder icons without doing this manually each time?

@onegin3105 You have to use something called Folder Actions in current versions of OS X. They're a bit tricky to set up, but the latest version of Add Folder Icons includes a step-by-step guide in the application Help.

Start Add Folder Icons, go to the Help menu, choose "Add Folder Icons Help" and in the contents page that is displayed, look down towards the bottom of the list on the left for "Folder Actions". Click on that link to get to the guide. It can look intimidating at first, but if you take it one step at a time, hopefully you can get it going.

It used to be possible to style folder icons completely automatically using the QuickLook framework, and indeed this was how Add Folder Icons got started many years ago. Unfortunately, Apple removed this ability in OS X 10.6, so Folder Actions are the only solution.

This is a really annoying bug in Mac OS that's been getting worse over time. There seems to be no solution other than to literally wait a while and see if it resolves. Sometimes restarting the application, or even restarting your computer, will fix it. If you Google around for problems with Help viewer not finding files, you'll see it is a common problem - sometimes it can't "find" pages for Apple's own OS X internal Help documentation :-(

...oh, if all else fails and you don't mind the ugliness of raw HTML, the actual Help file itself is in GitHub since it's part of the open source repository for Add Folder Icons:

(In case you're working off e-mail notifications of this GitHub issue, note that I just edited the above link to this:

https://github.com/pond/add_folder_icons/blob/feature/fix_for_older_os_versions_and_add_more_help/Add-Folder-Icons.help/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/pgs/automation.html

...since I've now merged that source code to master from the branch it had been on and deleted that branch).
