[bug report] time to open and open with three tabs since update to alpha 5

Issue/Bug description:
Since I updated to alpha 5, when I open cosmic-files, it takes up to 2 sec to open and it open three tabs, one tab (as expected) /home/thatoo ("Dossier personnel" in french) and two time /home/thatoo/desktop ("Bureau" in french).

Steps to reproduce:

Just open cosmic-files from the panel or by command line from cosmic-terminal

Expected behavior:
It should open instantly and only one tab ( /home/thatoo) as it used to be with alpha 4.

I am having this issue as well. Presently running Cosmic on NixOS also.

This was a downstream issue in nixos-cosmic, apologies for the upstream noise!
