Boids app visualization remains blank

Describe the bug

Starting the boids app, I can see step numbers keep increasing but there's no visualization appearing on the right:

Expected behavior

I'd expect to see a viz of moving boids.

Tested in Firefox and Vivaldi (Chrome)
