Typing in iOS stops though user keeps typing

I've built an app and use ngWYSIWYG for my text editors. It works fine on android but in iOS a user starts typing and after a few characters the text no longer appears, though the user is still typing. The auto correct is still showing suggestions when typing even though no characters are appearing in the editor.

Going out of the editor and back in seems to allow the user to type again, for a few characters.
