Unable to join server

After making a bot I get stuck at the server dialog page after entering

the page itself loads and I can see I'm logged in, but when I go to choose a server the dropdown menu provides no options.

I think that the introduction to this cli could be more user friendly.
I've managed to get the bot up on a server I made on discord, but nowhere in the documentation on this site does
it mention that I would need to have admin privileges to do so.
there is also no documentation on the proper configuration of the config file for those who do not understand json files.
Finally, there is no documentation for possible things that could go wrong, or what to do in that event.
Not very noob friendly.
