I think there might be a bug in the pinDigests feature. I'm not a typeScript dev but it appears when pinDigests is enabled for Helm-values files the replacement string tries to replace 24.42.1 with 24.42.1 and update the digest. I think it then checks that 24.42.1 matches the original and fails thinking the update didn't take. Either way, turning off pinDigests has resolved the issue for me. Although, I would prefer to use digests if someone can figure out why that's failing. |

Oh so the work around is to add the initial sha and then the pinning will
still update it? I'll give that a try.

Pinning digests should not be any blocker, because you can add sha's
yourself independently of Renovate. *Updating* sha's should still work
fine and be independent logic, once they're there.

I'm trying to setup self hosted Renovate with Github. I'm using the helm-chart and have it registered to do digest pinning. I can see that renovate finds the dependency but it fails to create a branch with very little information in the log as to why. This is a private repository, but the PAT has the full repository enabled. Do I have something misconfigured or is there a setting I'm missing for creating branches with a PAT?
I don't need to pre-create the branch do I?
Here's the full debug log.
