Roadmap for AY2022/2023

Background

• Vision: To be a premier tool for analyzing and providing insights on contributions to code repositories powered by version control
• Mission: To provide users with a tool to visualize the activities taking place in their code repositories
• Objective of AY2022/2023: Improving performance, extending functionality and simplifying user onboarding experience

Roadmap

Please refer to this board for tasks prioritised in AY2022/2023: GitHub Project's RepoSense Roadmap for AY2022/23.

• For contributors: These are tasks that are relatively simpler and are suitable for IWM/CS3281 students working on the RepoSense project.
• For developers: These are tasks that are slightly more complex and are more suited for CS3282 students who have experience working with the RepoSense project.

Outside of these tasks, you are still free to work on any task that you feel is worth working on. The roadmap is aimed to be a guide, especially if you have no idea where to start.

Epics

There are some epics that are not included in the Roadmap above, but are worth considering for CS3282/FYP students:

• Walk users through creating and deploying their first report #1430 (some work was done in https://github.com/reposense/wizard but the project may need to be reworked)
• Deprecate the CommandRunner class #442 (will require extensive refactoring of the backend and possible further research)

These tasks will require more expertise on working with the RepoSense project and will take a significant amount of time to complete.
