GTK3 theme is light when dark mode is chosen

The GTK3 theme becomes light when I want to prefer dark for my GTK4 and libAdwaita apps. The GTK4 theme works fine with dark mode and setting the preference to light fixes GTK3 apps but makes libadwaita apps light mode and makes some text black and less readable for GTK4. I mainly use GTK4 and libAdwaita apps to combat this but I would much appreciate if this got fixed, thanks1

this is a big problem for me as i cant get any flatpak themeing workarounds to work. i settled for just using dark adwaita with "prefer dark" in gtk but this inverts rose pine.

I used the zip file from https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1810530 and it applied dark theme to GTK 3 apps.

Themes from gnome-look often end up not getting updates. Here's the proper source for that theme: https://github.com/Fausto-Korpsvart/Rose-Pine-GTK-Theme

It does indeed work with prefer-dark unlike the theme from this repo (rose-pine-gtk).
