I wish I knew what M was before reading the doc. Actually, I learned
that M is -I guess- the number of mainland species, thanks to the
more descriptive interface of DAISIE_sim_core_constant_rate: kudo's
to its author(s). The name n_mainland_species would be more appropriate.
