Knobs unresponsive within a loaded and configured Profile

Twice now this has happened, not sure why (in X-Touch Mini)

--I created a Profile and assigned actions (specically for knobs) within that Profile, Saved, and all works well....for a while
--then I can (re)load that Profile, and it displays as the active one within MIDI2LR. I turn a knob, and the correct action is highlighted, but nothing happens when turning a knob
--when I kept fiddling, it then happens that I turn a knob, and it highlights as being "Unassigned"...even tho it was previously assigned
--I've tried closing out LR and MINI2LR and restarting--and again, the desired Profile loads, but knobs are not functional
--PS--am generally staying away form using both A and B layers due to the known issues with this. All I described above is within the A layer, no switching etc beforehand

Ah, wish I could delete my own questions once I've figured it out.

Turns out the profile that "wasn't working" in this case was "Local Adjustments"....and, turns out, I need to have an active local adjustment happening in LR for those Profile/knobs to work, go figure! I was turning them, and of course "unresponsive" if there's no active adjustment at the time

In absence of a "delte question" here, you get to see/hear me think out loud. Sorry for the 30 seconds I cost you!
